Position Details: Engineering Lead - Automotive-

Description:

Automotive Engineering Lead with a strong background in vehicle development. Candidate will work with the technology team to develop various offerings in connected and autonomous vehicle space. The candidate is expected to guide technical development team in identifying the best fit solutions that are technically feasible. Ability to create simulation environments for testing various offerings being developed. Provide the verification and validation path in compliance with the automotive standards and support for any required certification of the offerings


Responsibilities: 

• Develop in car data capture systems to accumulate data from different ECUs and Sensors
• Responsible for creating and maintaining various simulation environments required for testing various offering across multiple scenarios
• Guide the teams in identifying and filtering required data for future simulation scenarios
• Guide teams in understanding the datasets generated by different sensors and ECUs including metadata management
• Provide automotive domain expertise and feasibility assessment for various offerings and solutions 
• Actively engage with customer stakeholders to understand requirements, roadmap and align offerings, solutions to customer’s needs
• Work with teams in setting up various scenarios in tools like MATLAB, Simulink and automate the testing and simulation for different feature developments

Qualifications:

• Experience in various Simulation and Re-Simulation including MiL, ViL, DiL, SiL, HiL, Simulation, re-simulation and Software-in-the-Loop (SiL) testing experience preferred
• Knowledge, exposure and practical application background on control theory ranging from modern control to advanced control strategies.
• Strong understanding of the electric vehicle architecture and impact of electric vehicle in the overall control systems architecture
• Excellent knowledge of MATLAB, Simulink and simulation environment
• Experience vehicle modeling & dynamics, motion prediction, and kinematics
• Familiarity with US OEM development processes and requirements
• Experience developing robotic systems using ROS middleware (or similar, such as DDS) and multi- process software systems; 
• Strong C++ and Linux development toolchain background
• Experience with radar-, lidar-, and camera-based sensors systems, sensor fusion, computer vision and perception
• Strong Understanding of machine learning approaches to autonomous vehicle perception, planning, and decision making
• Experience with runtime software environments to support heterogenous processor systems
• Experience with safety-critical software development for automotive vehicle, robotics, or related products
• Experience with mathematical modeling, software/hardware co-design
• In-depth knowledge of open-source robotics toolkits such as the Robot Operating System (ROS)
• Experience with real-time programming of embedded platforms, automotive ECUs, automotive Ethernet/ CAN controllers preferred
• Experience in data capture and review on testbed vehicles during trail runs
• Strong Understanding of Mass Storage and Event Data Recorders
• Understanding of rugged equipment assemblies for in car data capture from various ECUs and sensors
• Experience in all aspects of Design & Development of Automotive Electronic Controllers
• Strong understanding and working knowledge of Vehicle and Safety Controller HW and related functions
• Understanding of Sensing, GPS and IMU hardware, software, and integration
• Understanding of system identification, vehicle modeling & dynamics, motion prediction, and kinematics
• Understanding of stochastic systems.
• Familiarity with machine learning and artificial intelligence algorithms and workloads in the context of automotive will be an advantage
