Description:
The Senior Marketing Manager will join the Industrial Marketing team in the
Polyurethanes business (PUR), supporting ongoing automotive business strategies
and driving the future automotive roadmap for North America. You will work collaboratively
with internal and external cross functional teams to develop winning customer
strategies and manage deep and complex engagements that will require internal
and customer contributions to achieve the desired result.
Major Activities:
•Develop and execute long term
automotive strategy, product plans and roadmap covering high impact topics that
drive scalability across product portfolio.
•Provide perspective on forecasts for existing and new business opportunities
•Primary interface between the different Business Units and the other regions
to explore and grow business and help define sound global strategies
•Localize global strategic direction for automotive strategies to North
American region, including but not limited to value proposition, segmentation
and targeting
•Synthesize market data from multiple sources to develop our own interpretation
of future state automotive market in order anticipate trends that will result
in meaningful opportunities
•Engage with the ecosystem (Tiers and OEM’s) and perform initial technology
assessment for ideal partners that could contribute to automotive strategy
•Validate product portfolio strategies and directions through direct customer
interaction, research and analysis to drive stakeholder buy-in and collaborate
with internal teams through stage-gate process
•Collaborate with Innovation to lead development of external network to fast
track or validate concepts. This includes development of partnerships with
Universities, technical institutions, government, startups, and equipment
manufacturers
Basic Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s Degree with 10 years of experience
•Master's Degree with 8 years of experience
•Must have 5+ years of automotive experience working with new or major automotive
OEM's
•Must have 5+ years of direct experience in product development/management and
executing products or technologies in the automotive industry
This position will be residence based in the Detroit area.
Preferred Qualifications:
•Experience working with automotive OEMs with an emphasis on future state
development (advanced driving, electrification, sensors, etc)

•Ability to work across complex, highly matrixed organizations and an ability
to work independently as well as within the team unit
•Strategic thought leadership and willingness to take measured risks and
challenge the status quo
•Excellent communication and presentation skills
•Demonstrates team orientation and collaborative skills with stakeholder management
•Exposure to market research experience in the automotive industry
•Experience leading, influencing and motivating across functional teams and
across product lines to bring together product plans and to take strategy and
action
Candidate Must Have:
· Must have 5+ years of automotive experience working with new or major automotive OEM's
· Must have 5+ years of direct experience in product development/management and executing products or technologies in the automotive industry
· Bachelor’s Degree with 10 years of experience or MS degree with 8 years
