Although TCS is the second largest IT firm globally, it is widely
unknown to CMOs. Our end-to-end offerings are just being built out and
we now need to build awareness and reposition TCS in the minds of brand
marketing teams. That means defining what our technology offering is,
how we relate to growth officers (GOs), how we can advocate for them
with CFOs, CEO’s and CIO – in short how we think about, market, and
deliver technology services to a wholly new customer for TCS.
The role of the Head of Tech Advisory is a new, critical hire for
TCS. They will play a pivotal role as visionary, strategist, and a
member of the strategic corporate development team. They will work in
close partnership with the rest of the TBD leadership.
Job Description:
Tech Advisor for Marketing – This role is for the marketing
advisory practice at TCS. This is effectively a new market and a new
customer for TCS, and the Head of Tech Advisory will play a critical
leading role to what is effectively a two sided value proposition –
first, and *internal* setting the TCS point of view on the current best
practice and future of marketing technology and second, an *external*
role in evangelizing and advising our clients and prospects on this
POV.
Advisor to our clients – unlike a traditional CTO, this individual
will need to function as our highest level technology consultant to our
growth and marketing clients. They will need to be visionary in their
ability to understand and frame solutions inside the complex systems and
industries where our clients operate. This means they will need to
possess significant practitioner capability as well as the soft skills
and gravitas to work with senior clients.
Product, offering and partner strategy – Grounded in our strategic
POV on marketing strategy and technology, they will be responsible for
setting and developing our vision on product development, offerings and
offering mix, and developing our partner network. Beyond vendor
partnerships, we want to develop best in class strategic alliances with
key technology vendors – as a point of differentiation in the market.
New business and strategic relationship development – As the senior
technologist in our marketing advisory practice, they are also part of
our C-suite consultative business team. Working on an agency model, we
seek to be *the* trusted advisor to our growth officer clients.
Evangelist for the TCS POV on marketing technology & strategy –
To build awareness and consideration among the growth officer class,
the Tech Advisor will be the “voice of marketing technology” and a
visionary in terms of the current industry state-of-play as well as
future vision and possibility.
Corporate capabilities and organization, in concert with the head
of strategy – in concert with the heads of our strategy functions, the
the head of Tech Advisory will manage a roadmap of current and future
capabilities for the marketing advisory group, contribute to
organization design, and help plan our go to market propositions.
There will also be a Head of Consultancy, a Head of CX Insights and
an Executive Design Director. The heads of product, service, and
business analysis will all report to your position.
Key responsibilities:
- Provide C-Suite clients advisory services on technology, tech partnerships and tech organization design.
- Develop and implement strategic plans aligned with the business objectives and industry trends
- Cultivate and maintain
strong relationships with key partners, industry influencers, and
stakeholders to enhance the firm's visibility in the USA market.
- Function as a thought leader
and spokesperson for the firm, in interviews, panels, and public
speaking engagements for an industry audience.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams in pursuit of our focus industries and accounts.
- Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and market dynamics to identify opportunities and threats.
- Stay abreast of regulatory and compliance considerations relevant to marketing technology in the global markets.
Qualifications:
Education
• Bachelor's Degree: In computer science, engineering, information technology, or a related field.
• Master's Degree (Preferred): An MBA or a master's in technology management or a related field.
Experience
• Work Experience: 15+ years
of experience in IT and technology roles, with a minimum of 5-10 years
in a senior leadership position.
• Global Experience: Proven experience managing technology functions across multiple countries and regions.
• Industry Knowledge: Deep
understanding of the specific industry the company operates in (e.g.,
finance, healthcare, manufacturing).
• Strategic Planning: Ability to develop and execute long-term technology strategies aligned with business goals.
• Consulting and advising:
Experience with C Suite and VP level consulting on technology, tech
partnerships, and tech organization design. Ideally has advised both
an internal C-suite team and with clients as a senior consultant.
• Leadership: Strong leadership and team-building skills with experience managing diverse, cross-functional teams.
• Technical Expertise:
In-depth knowledge of current and emerging technologies, including cloud
computing, cybersecurity, data analytics, and software development.
• Project Management: Experience overseeing large-scale technology projects and initiatives.
• Communication: Excellent
verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate
complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Financial Acumen: Experience managing technology budgets and optimizing IT investments.
Technical Proficiency
• Software Development: Experience with multiple programming languages and software development methodologies.
• Infrastructure Management: Proficiency in managing IT infrastructure, including networks, databases, and servers.
• Cybersecurity: Strong knowledge of cybersecurity principles and practices.
• Cloud Technologies: Expertise in cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
Salary Range: $243,700 - $337,000 a year
