Position Details: ALM Consultant

The ideal candidate will bring ALM tool and implementation expertise to help grow and expand existing client engagements within the following Industries: Auto, Aero, Industrial Machinery, Electrical Equipment, Farm Equipment, Construction, Heavy Equipment, Power Generation, EPC industries, Process industries like Chemical industries. The candidate will be responsible for defining ALM solution roadmap for clients and lead ALM implementations. The expectation is to provide thought leadership delivering business value to the clients, developing reusable assets in the process. The candidate will develop innovative solutions using digital and emerging technologies in context of client problems and contribute to business growth by identifying opportunities and influencing downstream IT projects.

Responsibilities: 

Working as part of an New Product Innovation and Lifecycle processes consulting team within the manufacturing industry vertical ALM consultant will be responsible to;

• Perform requirement definition and analysis, document user stories, use cases and develop technical solutions to business processes related to Embedded Software

• Lead ALM implementation, development of test scripts, load testing, and working with technical and functional teams in the analysis and make recommendations based on testing results. Support team in launching Embedded software based products.

• Participate in discussions with Global Development teams and Vendors to ensure standardization of tools and methodologies

• Lead ALM solution roadmap planning and execution, ALM tool evaluations, ALM solution prototypes, proof of concept and deployment framework

• Help developing ALM assets and collateral. This will include offerings, assessment guidelines, KPI, etc. including other marketing material and patterns & practices guidelines, case studies

• Act as solution consultant to strategic Sales/PreSales pursuits and Services projects

• Provide thought leadership  delivering business value to the clients, developing reusable assets in the process

• Contribute to business growth by identifying opportunities and influencing downstream IT projects

Qualifications: 

Must Have

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a Degree in Information Technology or similar

• Technical expertise and hands on experience in one or more ALM tools (HP ALM, Polarion, IBM Rational, PTC Integrity, Jira etc.) in installation, implementation, configuration and usage of ALM platforms in complex environments is mandatory.

• Strong experience in Embedded Software Development and Engineering

• Strong understanding of all development methodologies i.e. Agile/Scrum, Waterfall, Kanban, CI/CD

• Skilled in business value led approaches and helping shape client decision making

• Action orientated and willing to take ownership

• Self-confidence and an ability to build relationships with clients at all levels, especially at the Program Leadership and Business Leadership levels. 

• Strong oral & written communication skills, team working skills

• High performer in his or her area of business

Good-to-have

• Master’s in Business Administration or similar

• Experience in one or more of the following would be an added advantage : Agile/Scrum, Waterfall, Kanban, CI/CD

• Previous consulting experience. 

• Demonstrable evidence on Innovation, Thought Leadership or Subject Matter Expertise in ALM

• Participated in ALM industry forum / other public forum

Total Experience:  3– 10 years. Minimum 3-5 Years of  hands-on experience on ALM products and implementing ALM solutions
